Phase III: Learning Organization
Our focus in this phase of organizational transformation is to help organizations and systems embrace a systemic paradigm, supporting an understanding of the interrelationship between the parts and an ability to acknowledge the whole. During Phase III of the Zero Point Results Model™, we facilitate this through the development of a Learning Organization, which we help launch from the platform of a Coaching Culture that was developed in Phase Two. Peter Senge describes Learning Organizations as
"...organizations where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning to see the whole together."
A systems perspective is one of the core five disciplines, a series of principles that we integrate into our existence and performance, noted by Senge to be necessary for an organization to make the shift to actually becoming a Learning Organization. The other four disciplines include:
-
Personal Mastery
-
Mental Models
-
Shared Vision
-
Team Learning
Although all of these five core disciplines of the Learning Organization have been weaved into phase one and phase two, it is in Phase Three that we enter into these with much more depth at the structural level, especially in the fifth discipline...systems thinking. This phase of the model requires a deeper level of commitment to act and learn together collectively so that genuine leadership is distributed across and throughout the organization.
